I was born in Quito, Ecuador, in 1989. I hold a Doctorate in Computer Science from the Université de Bordeaux, supported by a doctoral contract from Inria in Bordeaux, France, which I completed in 2021. Before that, I earned a Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Networking from Escuela Politécnica Nacional in Quito, Ecuador, in 2015, and a Master's degree in Computer Engineering from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Spain, in 2018.
Until March 2024, I served as a postdoctoral researcher at the RIKEN Center for Computational Science in Kobe, Japan, as part of the High-Performance Big Data Research Team under the supervision of Dr. Kento Sato. During my Ph.D., I worked with the TADaaM team at Inria Bordeaux-Sud-Ouest Research Center under the guidance of Dr. Brice Goglin. I successfully defended my dissertation on October 7, 2021, in the Ada Lovelace meeting room at Inria Bordeaux.
I have been associated with Universidad Tecnológica Indoamérica in Quito, where I worked as an Adjunct Professor until September 2024, after which I was promoted to Associate Professor. Additionally, I serve as an Invited Professor at Universidad Iberoamericana in Quito. Since July 2024, I have been a Research Fellow in the Data Management Platform Development Unit at RIKEN, Japan.
My research focuses on optimizing high-performance computing (HPC) applications to maximize the capabilities of current and emerging architectures. My broader goal is to contribute to projects that positively impact society, fostering a better and more sustainable world.
