Andrès RUBIO PROAÑO

I was born in Quito, Ecuador, in 1989. I earned a Doctorate in Computer Science from Université de Bordeaux and received a doctoral contract from Inria in Bordeaux, France, in 2021. Prior to that, in 2015, I obtained a Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Networking from Escuela Politécnica Nacional, Quito, Ecuador. In 2018, I also earned a Master's degree in Computer Engineering from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Barcelona, Spain.

Until March 2024, I worked in a postdoctoral position at Riken Center of Computational Science in Kobe, specifically in the High-Performance Big Data Research Team under the supervision of Dr. Kento Sato.

During the Ph.D. I was under the guidance of Dr. Brice Goglin and I worked in the TADaaM team at Inria Bordeaux-Sud-Ouest Research Center. I successfully defended my Ph.D. on October 7th, 2021, in Ada Lovelace's meeting room at Inria Bordeaux.

My research focuses on optimizing HPC applications to better utilize current and upcoming architectures.  Additionally, my overarching goal is to contribute to projects that positively impact our world, making it a better place to live.
